The successful candidate will bring a strong track record in technical modeling and simulation in the areas of electrical power distribution systems and grid control. Ideal candidates will have a background in power system modeling and simulation, optimization and control, and distribution automation. The successful candidate will work on developing feeder models from utility data, validating the developed/converted feeder models, and perform modeling and simulation and analysis, and will work closely with other senior researchers in the group to meet deliverables and milestones.
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering Or, Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
General knowledge and application of engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Good writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
Training in team, task or project leadership responsibilities.
Intermediate abilities and knowledge of practices and techniques.
Beginning experience in project management.
Experience in developing modeling and simulation tools and electrical models of distribution systems.
Experience in developing control algorithms and data analytics for electric power distribution systems.
Proficiency with electrical system distribution simulation programs (eg. OpenDSS, GridLab-D)
Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java)
