Electric vehicles, on-demand mobility, and sustainable fuels have all increased dramatically in recent years and trends suggest no sign of slowing. These new technologies have proven disruptive and created opportunities to re-imagine a transportation/energy system that is more convenient, efficient, and equitable.

Do you have a strong analytical background and a passion for improving energy and transportation systems? Sub-topics include agent-based simulation, web tool development, distributed energy resource modeling, and financial analysis.

Specific tasks may include:

  • Manage large-scale simulations on high-performance computing resources and effectively visualize results.

  • Regularly document progress and results/insight of analysis in technical presentations given to internal staff.

  • Under direction of senior staff, work to maintain and/or to implement new features in existing software used for applications such as modeling vehicle fuel economy, electric vehicle charging behavior, and fleet dispatching of ride-hailing services.

  • Refactor existing codebases to improve usability, performance, and efficiency.

We are looking for a year-round intern to work full time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
