Job Summary

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is a leader in the U.S. Department of Energy’s effort to secure an energy future that is both environmentally and economically sustainable. With locations in Golden and Boulder, CO and Washington D.C., NREL is the primary laboratory for research, development and deployment of renewable energy technologies in the United States. The NREL mission is to develop renewable energy and energy efficient technologies and practices, advance related science and engineering, and transfer knowledge and innovation to address the

nation’s energy and environmental goals.

NREL’s office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) has three internship openings available in the Financial Planning and Analysis Group, and we are considering undergraduate level candidates. The internship dates are from 1/14/19 to 5/31/19. These individuals will have the opportunity to work in a team of financial analysts supporting the five science divisions of NREL. Successful candidates will have demonstrated quantitative and critical thinking skills with finance, accounting, and/or general business background. Experience with business intelligence/reporting software and exposure to enterprise financial systems software (Oracle EBS) is a strong plus.

Job duties will include:

  • NREL research project manager with ongoing financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities.

  • In consultation with mentors, perform independent analysis and processing of documents.

  • Utilize and interpret data from several software systems including, but not limited to: Oracle E-Business Suite, Hyperion Planning, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, etc.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation.
