As a member of NREL’s IT Application Management team, the Techno-Functional Analyst is responsible for working with business owners and IT technical staff to deliver ongoing enhancements to the lab’s Oracle R12 Enterprise Business Suite modules including but not limited to; subledger accounting, general ledger, accounts receivable, payables, cash management, i-expense, i-procurement, projects, inventory, fixed assets, and purchasing. The Techno-Functional Analyst will understand the current business processes and data and use their functional understanding and technical expertise to recommend practical ways of enhancing, re-architecting and improving technical solutions to support business requirements. In addition, the successful candidate will aid in troubleshooting issues with current functionality and ensure the stability of the production environment. As our platform is extended, their work will be instrumental in ensuring all solutions complement one another and function seamlessly.
Duties shall include:
Provide requirement analysis, process review, feature design, application configuration, documentation, and implementation services for production support and system enhancements within an Oracle Financial R12 environment
Provide Oracle 12.2.x functional/technical expertise in financial modules including, but not limited to, subledger accounting, projects, general ledger, accounts receivable, payables, i-expense, cash management, fixed asset, inventory, i-procurement, and purchasing, to support the following:
Application design, analysis, configuration and implementation of improvements to meet all enhancement requirements and specifications with approval from NREL.
Perform unit and user acceptance testing on all configuration work.
Provide functional specifications and decision documentation.
Assess short-term and long-term trade-offs and make recommendations to the business and technology teams
Design solutions to address complex business problems, advocate for scalable solutions that achieve the outcomes of new or existing business processes.
Provide support to our Oracle user community by addressing system function anomalies, and end-user training, questions or issues
Discover and document requirements working with users
Identify /review processes, document gaps, and provide solutions to address gaps and enhance processes based on customer business needs
Develop designs and data mapping for interfaces, extensions, conversions, and reports
Assist with test plans, provide testing documentation, and perform testing activities
Assist with training sessions and documentation
Provide input to planning and scheduling direction for project and release management
Provide leadership and expertise to review and recommend improvements based upon “best practices” and current Oracle functionality for applicable business processes.
Provide analysis and problem resolution to implement fixes to reported problems
Provide updates to and validation of internal control documentation
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience
Masters Degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience
PhD in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years functional/technical experience in implementing / supporting Oracle FinancialsR12 applications with emphasis on analysis, implementation and problem resolution
5+ years proven experience successfully designing, implementing and supporting Oracle R12 in a complex environment
5+ years demonstrated proficiency working with a variety of Oracle Financial Modules: subledger accounting, general ledger, accounts receivable, payables, cash management, i-expense, i-procurement, projects, fixed assets, and purchasing
5+ years of experience using SQL (preferred Oracle)
Considerable knowledge of Federal Government Accounting standards
Current experience developing functional designs including interface and extension designs
Applicable experience designing and executing end-to-end integration testing
Relevant experience with data conversion requirements and mapping
Extensive experience designing and implementing financial reports
Hands on experience configuring and enhancing Oracle R12 modules in government environments
Well-developed analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving ability with demonstrated experience working to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve service requests within the Oracle E-Business Suite
Applies extensive IS expertise in specific field and has full knowledge of related disciplines
Evaluates new hardware, software, systems tools and applications and makes procurement recommendations
Excellent leadership and project management skills
Skilled in analytical techniques, practices and problem solving
Extensive programming and architecture abilities with various computer software programs and information systems
Proven excellent customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, analytical, and technical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Visio and Excel
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud
Experience with Oracle BI Publisher
Experience with OBIEE
Experience using Service Now or similar ITIL management system
