Performs accounting responsibilities for the Financial Reporting Team, including accruals entry and analysis, cash management support, and reconciliations. This position reports to the General Ledger Team Lead.
Creating and distributing accrual forms to project technical monitors.
Monitoring the logging and tracking of returned accrual forms.
Managing period of performance and accruals schedule changes.
Creating and distributing accrual reports several times during the month to various stakeholders.
Interim, month-end, and year-end accruals processing and reporting to provide the Lab with accurate and timely costing information for internal management reporting and external financial statements.
Responsible for in-depth analysis of accruals to ensure accurate financial statements including a year-end accrual review
Creating complex excel spreadsheets to analyze the accruing PO lines for determination of review population and form creation during the annual accrual review.
Critical customer service with the Lab community, Acquisition Services, and both scientific and operational technical monitors. On-site presence is required to support the Lab community, internal and external auditors
Support the General Ledger Team Lead with inquiries, documentation, trending analysis, and detailed explanations of the monthly accruals and the entire accruals process.
Requires cash management support, including alternating days of check and ACH runs, as well as, adhoc check and ACH runs.
Performs and conducts analysis of balance sheet and other account reconciliations and supporting schedules, reports on discrepancies and assists in monthly account resolutions
Responsible for the monthly bank account reconciliation and researching variances.
Other accounting and financial operations duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent relevant certification, degree or experience may be substituted for education or years of experience.
Demonstrated understanding of accounting practices and procedures. Proficient in analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in a team environment with a variety of customers. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Intermediate skills in electronic accounting systems, and spreadsheets (Excel). A self-starter, highly organized, detail-oriented team player is required.
Demonstrated experience with Oracle Financial Applications or other integrated ERP business systems.
