The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado is the nation’s primary laboratory for research and development of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. A technician position is available in NREL’s Chemistry and Nanoscience Center to support the perovskite photovoltaics labs and research team. The candidate will work within a larger group effort standardizing processes, building equipment, ordering supplies and operating routine experiments. Successful candidate would have experience with the techniques, methodologies, and materials of solution processed photovoltaic devices, experimental designs and methods, and processing and physical analysis of materials and devices. This candidate should have interest in working within the NREL team and interfacing with industrial partners.
High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of experience working in a research or manufacturing environment or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Associate's Degree or certification program of comparable scope and 5 or more years of experience research or manufacturing environment or equivalent relevant education/experience.
Candidate should have experience with solar cell fabrication. They should also be proficient in research techniques and practices. Solid communication, interpersonal, project management and customer relations skills.
Extensive experience in operation of lab equipment associated with processing perovskite materials and devices. Experience in programming for data collection, organizing supplies and general maintenance of lab equipment.
Ideally candidate will have B.S. or M.S. degree in engineering, or science or extensive lab experience.
