Job Description

Job/Research Summary:

This position supports the NREL Library’s on-going efforts to reduce the physical footprint of our print collection and enhance electronic access to critical materials. The NREL Library is staffed by five professional librarians and provides extensive research and information services to researchers and support staff across the laboratory.

Job Duties:

  • Scanning and processing print technical reports.

  • Checking print and microfiche technical reports for online equivalents.

  • Assisting with an extensive inventory of the library’s print collection.

  • Updating catalog records to incorporate scanned reports.

Required Education and Experience:

Current or prospective student in a Master’s Degree program for a Library and Information Studies program.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.


Basic Qualifications

Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. Internship period cannot exceed 12 months past graduation. Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Please Note: You will need to upload unofficial transcripts and a letter of recommendation as part of the application process.

Some experience cataloging, preferably with Ex Libris’ Alma.
